The Pavilion Gardens in Thomas Jefferson’s Academical Village at UVA were just a vision when he bought Monroe’s empty cornfield to build his Academical Village. During this last chapter of his life, Jefferson was inspired, and bequeathed a life-changing gift to future generations. “Let there be trees,” and said, as he mapped out the variety of plantings in these natural wonders.
